Position Title: Development Manager
Salary: Grade 7 £29,636 to £32,878 (Bar at £32,029) per annum
Contract Type: Full Time Permanent
Hours: 35 per week

The Development Manager has a key role in delivering against the Gallery’s annual fundraising targets, through applications to public funds and trusts & Foundations, and managing corporate sponsorship and individual giving. The Development Manager also has responsibility for managing and overseeing the work of the Friends Coordinator.

You must have extensive experience in all areas of fundraising, with a proven interest in art galleries and visual art. You will have excellent writing and negotiation skills, they will be confident in dealing with donors and sponsor, and will be able to work proactively within a busy organisation. You will have good IT, database (Raiser’s Edge) and financial skills with an understanding of, and respect for, dealing with personal details of donors.

You will work alongside the Head of Development for the Manchester Museums Partnership who also oversees fundraising at Manchester Museum and the Whitworth (Manchester Museums Partnership). You will manage the Friends Coordinator who also has some general administrative responsibility for the team. The post will have regular contact with the staff in similar posts across the Manchester Museums Partnership but will be permanently based at, and fundraising for, Manchester City Galleries (which includes Manchester Art Gallery and Platt Hall).
